What is Outerinfo?
Outerinfo advertising software is distributed with various other applications, including games, instant messaging add-ons, videos, and other popular consumer software.i
Similar to how network television is paid for through commercials, we sponsor online content providers, who, by including the Outerinfo advertising software, can distribute their products to the world for free. Much as a momentary black screen indicates that your network television program has entered a commercial break, our advertisements can be distinguished from your regular web content with the phrase "By Outerinfo" listed in the titlebar of your browser window. Similarly, much as a 30 minute show is supported by eight minute of commercials, Outerinfo will show eight ads, on average, per day.
Is Outerinfo Spyware?
Outerinfo software is not spyware. Consumer privacy is of the utmost importance to us. Outerinfo software is advertising software, commonly known as "adware". Our software anonymously examines keywords, URLs, and search terms while you browse the internet. Outerinfo does not track individual user data, use cookies, track clickstream data, compile user databases, or engage in any type of user profiling.
How did I get Outerinfo on my computer?
Outerinfo advertising software is distributed with various other applications, including games, instant messaging add-ons, videos, and other popular consumer software. However, it cannot be installed without explicitly agreeing to our End User License Agreement (EULA). You may review it here. If you did not see such an agreement, please contact a support representative at support@outerinfo.com.
How do I uninstall your software?
If you no longer wish to receive Outerinfo advertisements and special offers, you may opt-out at any time, through the industry-standard "Add or Remove Programs" section of Windows. Simply click on "Start," then "Settings, then "Control Panel," then "Add or Remove Programs." Once there, please look for any product labeled "Outerinfo" and then on "Change / Remove." The Outerinfo uninstaller will then guide you through the rest of the opt-out process.
I ran the Uninstaller but I'm still receiving ads.
In rare cases, usually due to interference from a third party application, our built-in uninstaller is corrupted.
This situation can be corrected by downloading and running the stand-alone uninstaller available here. If you need assistance running OiUninstaller.exe, please visit our Uninstall Outerinfo section for further details.
